Laugh. Saha's played for United and Everton he knows enough about the shite to steer well clear of them. I also think he has a good relationship with Moyes and is thankful for us helping him restart his career. Plus rafa almost always buys shite players, so Roman Pavlyuchenko for £11 million it is!

They can forget about £7M. If they start talking about £17M we'd do business.

There are some vaguely amusing comments beneath that article, but this one made me laugh out loud:

Louis wouldn’t go anyway, why bother, he’s the main striker here. he’s got compatriots here and your team and manager and fans are all cunts!

Succinct, and undeniably true.

Saha to Arsenal?

Post  Tonteau on Tue 22 Dec 2009, 4:28 pm

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/dec/22/football-transfer-rumours-liverpool-martin-oneill

Arsène Wenger, meanwhile, is plotting a crafty bid for Louis Saha, who could be acquired for a relatively paltry fee given his contract at Everton expires in the summer. The striker ticks all the right boxes for Arsenal: technically excellent, French and susceptible to injury. David Moyes will react to that blow by bopping over to Bordeaux to pick up the player with whom Arsenal have been continually linked, the Moroccan frontman Marouane Chamakh.

That one could happen. I like to think that louis is grateful to Everton to getting his career going again. We'll see. If we sell him, it has to be for a lot, £8 million or Wenger can stick Tampax up his nostrils.

Don't you think that Saha is close to being player of the year though? I know his contract is up, but we have the option for another year. I don't know, I can see the appeal with Arsenal of course.

Well if Saha has made his intentions known that he wants to go then It is highly unlikely we would get anything near 8 million. contract up in the summer, over 30, injury prone. 2 -3 million would be more likely. considering we got him next to nothing I guess we cant moan although I hope he sign on again.

Pretty worried about Saha and especially Piennar who after rejecting the first contract some months ago its gone worryingly quiet on that one.

With Pienaar my guess is that he thinks he should be playing for Barcelona or someone like that. In other words, he might feel he's above us. I hope that's not the case, but he hasn't not made a statement saying he's ready to commit his future with the club.

Saha wants 60k a week!!!

A bit scary this. We cant afford £60,000 for a player who plays one in two games surely. Should we have sold him for £8 million in the summer afterall???

Good point mate, seems like a long time ago now. Wouldnt be suprised to see him leave on a free at the end of the season and then Pienaar leave on a free at the end of next season. We seem to continually shoot ourselves in the foot but still Moyes says there is "no rush" to get Saha signed up.

He's been our best player this season by a mile. To put him on parity with players like Johhny H is probably only fair but he is still a risk.

Im more worried about Pienaar to be honest. I can see him going to Arsenal on a Bosman in the summer. We should have got him signed up by now.
