On his day he is a good defender, but once he loses interest he seems to switch off

I read somewhere he has only missed one game a season for the last 7 seasons.

In other words, very reliable.

He will do his cruciate on Sunday. Laughing

Yobo needs the right partner alongside him, Lescott was a bit of a maverick, whereas Weir and Stubbs kept him in check.

Yobo is class, again, with the right person alongside him, that person is Jagielka, we will see how Distin fits in.

It's nice that we'll have some competition though! I wondered if we would just sign a 'body' but Distin is far from that!

SSN 'understand' that Distin is so eager to get some gametime that he drove all the way up from Portsmouth last night to get medical done as quick as possible.

also hoping Din's permit comes through today, if he doesn't - we wont see him until after the internationals. Neutral

does anyone else think that 5.2 million could be a bit expensive?

dont get me wrong i'm well happy with the signing - exactly what we need, some experience, a good athlete and he can slot straight in.

if he can help halt the slide the i guess each premier league place is worth 750,000 so he'll start paying for himself

i dunno where these figures are coming from, but i'd like to know what 'undisclosed', now i fuckin know, it means ' we're not telling you' but in business terms.

i doubt he cost that much, i head on radio shitty it was 4.5m and thats not bad for a proven prem defender, international experience too.

Looking at what is out there, I think we've done pretty well. We could have ended up with Dunne or Senderos who are both absolute shite or paid over the odds for Wheater or Taylor who are both OK, but overpriced and overrated. Hangeland would have been the best, but Fulham won't sell. Distin will do me, and I wouldn't be surprised if it's Joey who's replaced when Jags is back.

I read somewhere... and don't ask for a link cause it could've been anywhere that it was c. 3M... risng to 5+M.. no more than 6 depending on appearances, cllub successes etc...

He gives a really good interview on Etv, did not know about it up until a few days ago. Louis has been really helpful in telling him about us. Well impressed with Finch farm. Happy with the area and hoping to do a good job here and finish his career off. Moyes has gone for an experienced lad for a pretty penny. I think it is a smart move as the lad is an experienced Prem player. We have enough kids and he does neatly drop into Joleon shoes albeit for 5 million. That takes the heat out of getting another CB but we do need one.

Next Moysey!

I watched both the interview and the press conference with him and he appears to be really level headed. Even made a couple of jokes and seams relaxed being with us. Very Happy
