I think I read somewhere that he will join us for the Fulham game after the internationals.Bryan wrote:Tonteau wrote:Hopefully he can play against wigan. Neville at centre half doesn't exactly 'phil' anyone with confidence.
Moyes was on the radio saying he will start.
also hoping Din's permit comes through today, if he doesn't - we wont see him until after the internationals.

My eyes are going - does that say Gobshite on his shirt?
I didn't even pay attention to that when I read it yesterday. Good eyes there.

Re: 15: Sylvain Distin - Monster
He gives a really good interview on Etv, did not know about it up until a few days ago. Louis has been really helpful in telling him about us. Well impressed with Finch farm. Happy with the area and hoping to do a good job here and finish his career off. Moyes has gone for an experienced lad for a pretty penny. I think it is a smart move as the lad is an experienced Prem player. We have enough kids and he does neatly drop into Joleon shoes albeit for £5 million. That takes the heat out of getting another CB but we do need one.
Next Moysey!

I watched both the interview and the press conference with him and he appears to be really level headed. Even made a couple of jokes and seams relaxed being with us.Bluey wrote:He gives a really good interview on Etv, did not know about it up until a few days ago. Re: 15: Sylvain Distin - Monster
SYLVAIN DISTIN says the lure of Manchester City's millions could not have stopped him joining Everton this summer. Mark Hughes was ready to take the former City defender, 31, back to Eastlands if his £24million swoop for Joleon Lescott failed. Instead Distin replaced Lescott at Everton.
And Distin said: "I read about some interest from City. But when I saw the kind of names they were signing, if I went back I'd be on the bench.
"It was not what you might call in England 'my cup of tea'. It's the same with Liverpool who were interested. I didn't want to to be a squad player."

Re: 15: Sylvain Distin - Monster
Distin does not wish to be seen as Lescott's replacement, but then the centre-back is accomplished enough to deserve the right to assert his own standards. "We are two different players," he stresses. "I'm here to do my own stuff. I'm not here to be compared to him. They have given me his locker, though. It was empty, apart from a big pile of cash."

Looked good, yesterday. Possibly our best player. Very calm, and willing to put his body in the way of anything. One challenege where he dived in with his head close to AJ's foot to block the shot was particularly impressive.

Distin
Ok, from what i see on the teleivision/games on the net, which is most games.
- sums it up.
I would prefer Yobo over him and i have about as much confidence in Yobo as i have confidence in me and claire never splitting up again.
No wonder he played for Portsmouth.
Edit.
Maybe he hasnt had a Centreback partnership formed yet.
But his distribution is terrible. HOoof!

Re: 15: Sylvain Distin - Monster
Gaz, sorry mate, but that is a complete load of shite
His distribution is far better than Yobo's. His form was really good from the off but has dipped along with the rest of the side. My one criticism of Distin is he isn't a leader, as I expected. Similar to Lescott and Yobo he doesn't marshall the defence. We miss Jags and Neville for having a natural leader on the pitch. But overall I'm happy with Distin.

Distin has got steadily worse as the season has gone on..Yobo and Jagielka when their fit....but most of all we need a settled back 4..every game it s a different combination.
