Re: 15: Sylvain Distin - Monster
Decent player and one I have wanted here for a while, a bit older now but will still do a job for us. We need him and another CB so I hope he comes but I have a feeling he might end up at Villa or possibly Liverpool might go in for him, they wanted him a few weeks back?

Re: 15: Sylvain Distin - Monster
Sky Sports News understands (no shit, she really said this) that Villa have made an improved offer for the Pompey captain
If we do want him we need to move FAST ... stop dithering Davey FFS !

Distin was hailed as a great CB just a couple of years ago - what happened?

Transfer request in now ... come on Davey ... no dithering...
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1208917/Everton-Aston-Villa-fight-Sylvain-Distin-hands-transfer-request-Portmouth.html
Portsmouth rate Distin at £6m but Everton are understood to be reluctant to go above £5m.

I still think £5 million is a lot to pay for a 31/2/3 year old (depending on who you believe) with a year left on his contract.

I do agree.. but 24 M is a lot to pay for an Engerland fringe player that's only been in the prem a few years...
it's all relative... and let face it we can't hang around & dither... we need to just pay up IMO

is that like when your a kid and rather than being 9 years old, you'd be 9 and a half, or 9 and 3 quarters???? you'd of thought he'd of grown out of that by now
I'd have him, 5 or 6 mil if we get 2+ seasons out of him, PL experience counts for a lot these days. We could spend 10 mil on some untested Russian, who's never played in the PL
we will still need 1 more CB though, at least (Not including Neville or Moyes)

I do too, but that's the market now, I'd prefer he had a go for the Stoke lad Shawcross(?)
looks at home in the prem-young-British, but may cost a bit more

Fair do's, hopefully we can get another, younger, centre half as well. And a right back.
