Portsmouth captain Sylvain Distin, who has been tipped for a move all summer, announced his intention to leave the club following their third loss of the newly commenced Premier League season.
The chief executive of the club, Peter Storrie, has affirmed that the defender is headed towards the exit door, and hinted that the player will soon wear the blue of Everton.
"Sylvain told us that he wanted to go and we have had a bid from Everton," Storrie told Portsmouth News.
"I expect him to go, although I'm not quite sure how soon."
The CEO maintained that the club wanted to hold on to the Frenchman but will have to sell, owing to the 31-year-old stopper handing in a transfer request.
"It is disappointing because we would have liked to have kept him," he lamented.
"We even offered him a new contract. We had previously turned down approaches, too. But Sylvain wants to go."

Re: 15: Sylvain Distin - Monster
Prefer Distin over huth. £5m is nothing for a Prem defender.
Remember the shite where after Distin for a while.

Yeah, former man united youth player. He broke through for stoke last season helping them to stay up with clean sheets and scoring a few goals. From what I've seen he doesn't look as good a ball player lescott was, but he's solid in defence.
