I'd swap him for Winston Reid.

Yeah wouldn't surprise me either if we didn't have a replacement lined up! He will leave on a free in the summer anyway so I don't see the need to bin him off now.

Experienced Everton centre-back Sylvain Distin has posted his first message on Twitter in 266 days in direct response to a story by the Liverpool Echo about his absence from the Toffees first-team. The 37-year-old Frenchman cryptically tweeted "Truth always comes out. Now isn't the time to talk... See you at the end of the season."

Dirt and Shyt at the end of the season then? I hope Dizzie rises above any he said, I said stuff.

I was told that Everton asked West Ham for a fee when trying to offload dusty Rolling Eyes

In the paper today that he is going to Bournmouth when his Contract expires next month. Alcaraz will also go as his Contract is up.

I wouldn't be too upset if those rumours were true (for a change).

Martinez is a fucking clown. He hasn't even spoken to Distin. Okay, Distine was past his best, but he's been a great Evertonian in his short time here. He was really keen to come and he's done a great job for us.

If anyone goes at the end of the season, I hope it's Martinez.

Martinez won't go, we all know that simply because we can't afford to sack him.
Martinez is clearly a very stubborn man who thinks very highly of himself. He has never been wrong. And can't seem to be flexible enough, or man enough, to set things straight in this case with Distin.

Roberto Martinez, is under pressure to bring Sylvain Distin out of the wilderness and allow the defender to say his goodbyes to Everton supporters.

Distin has not played since January and will be released by the club along with Antolin Alcaraz when both players’ contracts expire at the end of the season.

Martinez ruled out giving Distin, 37, a send-off against Tottenham on the final day of the season, but Everton’s players and officials at the Goodison Park believe it would be fitting for centre-half to be included in the squad.

Distin has made more than 200 appearances since joining from Portsmouth in 2009.

That's an interesting end to the saga, if it happens.
It would be a great gesture, as Dizzie looked the business for 2-3 seasons with us.
Alco and Dizzie make 85th minute subs, when we're 2-0 up, and it ends 2-2 ?

It's a no brainer. He's been a class act at Everton. was a quality player until the last year. Was always honest and never shirked his responsibilities. A great example for the rest. It would be very cuntish not to let him have a send off, which he deserves.

Newly promoted Bournemouth have agreed a deal in principle to sign central defender Sylvain Distin.

Distin left Everton when his contract expired at the end of the season.

The 37-year-old Frenchman is yet to have a medical but it is not thought it will prevent the deal progressing.

If he does sign, Bournemouth will become Distin's fifth Premier League club after spells with Newcastle, Manchester City, Portsmouth - where he won the FA Cup in 2008 - and Everton.
