I think he is too good a footballer to have in defence - it would be a waste of his attacking talents.

So what is his best position? CB, DM, CM or behind a lone striker? scratch

he seems to have gone more offensive than defensive of late. Personally i think CM with the licence to attack ie similar to Arteta

He's gone from a CB, to a defensive mid, to an attacking mid, and I think an attacking mid is where we want him to be. He's great at taking on the defence.

Agreed. He does much better when coming from the middle of the park. He's just not a natural winger, and his skills are somewhat lost out there. So, we have more midfielders than ever to select from, but only Pienaar is a true winger and he won't sign a new contract!!! pale

Is Pienaar a winger? I'm inclined to think he's more of a creative midfielder who has been played out wide. He doesn't have the pace of the tradional winger.

That's a valid point. But he's the best winger we have on the books (as far as I'm concerned). Also, I wonder if he's a bit light weight to play in the middle of the park. Just a thought.

I think Pienaar is best on the wing.

I don't disagree that he is great on the wing, however if he goes to Spurs, he would be in a team that has the best wingers in the Prem on both sides (debateable I agree). Would he play on the wing at Spurs?

A source close to Everton starlet Jack Rodwell has revealed the 19 year-old faces up to month on the sidelines with an ankle injury.

The midfielder, who is rumoured to be a last minute target of Sir Alex Ferguson, picked up a knock in Sunday's 1-0 away defeat to Aston Villa.

Making his first Premier League start of the season at Villa Park, Rodwell was replaced in the 70th minute by fellow young-gun Seamus Coleman.

Rodwell's injury was at first thought to be minore but an insider said he faces up to a month of intensive physiotherapy.

We have a two week international break so if there is a good time to get injured, this is it.
