Very disappointed that we are selling our young stars .. Rodwell could prove to be superb & a total giveaway... Citeh are not bidding for no reason & he is now moving into a full international role as well.

I'm gutted

I know it's disappointing but I really can't see how Everton are going to generate funds any other way. With the Lescott money, Moyes managed to get two centrehalfs and a less successful Russian but it proved decent business. If we can do something similar with the Rodwell money then it could work out well for us. Maybe a blend of some youth and experience. Yes we can all
be disappointed and angry but unless you are dining at the top table we have to cut our cloth accordingly. If Moyes supports this move then I trust him to make the most out of the resources he's given

Sad news but nearer £20M makes it like children & medicine - a bit of sugar sweetens the nasty taste.

DM must have a plan...............

If the bank take a bit, but we get a holding Midfilelder, and a wide man like Lonnie Donegan, then it's probably good business.
City are still buying potential, rather than the finished product.
Good luck to both Rodders and ourselves.

He's a decent player now and may develop into an excellent one but we aren't the sort of club who can have £15m of player sitting on the bench. Better to cash in on him and buy players in positions where we are short e.g. right midfield. I'm sorry to see him go but it is good business for Everton.

According to Greg O'Keefe's twitter he travelled back with Rodder$ earlier than the team and Jack was a bit surprised, but understood the club's position. The treble salary will help ease the pain.... affraid

Should we just take the usual 6 points off you again this season Robbie?

Absolutely spot on - we are weakest down the right hand side. A top quality right hand midfield player should be a top priority.

Mancini has always shown a lack of class. It started when Moyes gave him his first paddling in the Premiership.

Interesting reading comments of the signing on various websites - opinion is fairly mixed but haven't read too much criticism of Everton for agreeing to the sale. So Mancini has a hissy fit that he can't have another£20m toy to play with, (mainly due to the club unable to get unwanted high earners off the payroll) gets one a few days later and then has a dig at the selling club! I hope VP goes to Utd. fuck him!

I think we could have done better than £12M to be honest, if that is indeed the price. A young promising Englishman normally demands much higher prices, think Carroll for instance.

Alternatively, we are about to go under financially and ANY offer for Rodwell was acceptable. Not sure what to think of all this.

Just keep tweeting him, Moyes 5, Mancini 1.
