That's not how it's supposed to be, BUT can you imagine Yobo doing the same. I sure can't.treblA wrote:Knight of Thorgothshire wrote:I prefer Heitinga to Distin, but Distin has done well for us.treblA wrote:prefer yobo to distin
i dont trust yobo or distin at all. they've always got a mistake in them, and more often that not it costs a goal.
you are right, distin's distribution is a lot better, i just don't like his defending. yobo's distribution lands him in trouble, i think distin's decision making is worse - eg sporting lisbon at home last season. there's not a lot between them really, probably just like yobo more cos he's been there longer.

I think yobo loses his concentration at times and his mistakes usually cost a goal but Distin has not been much better on that front. I just think on his day when he is playing to his best he is probably one of our better defenders. I would rather have kept him as he can cover rightback as well. with our squad I dont really like to see anyone go. At least we kept hold to Yakubu

Aside from the odd moment against Blackburn, Distin has been very good this season. Better than Jagielka in fact.

I've been impressed by the way Distin is keen to take the ball at feet and go forward rather than pass or hoof

All the best Yobo. You always gave it your all, when you weren't tying up yer fecking shoelaces anyways. I think the club has moved on and the swap should do us both good, but he'll certainly get a big cheer should he ever return.

I read about that somewhere else and it was basically the kiss of death to his EFC career

From Toffeepleb..
if true
Fenerbahce looking to haggle over Yobo fee
Fenerbahce are hopeful of making Joseph Yobo's loan move from Everton permanent this summer per the original agreement but it seems as though a fee was not agreed up front.
The Turkish club are apparently balking at the €8m asking price and are looking to pay something closer to €3m to €4m for the Nigerian defender.

Yobo does not want to come back:

Everton centre back Joseph Yobo has discouraged a return to Goodison Park following his season-long loan with Turkish side Fenerbahce.
Although Yobo referred to the Club as ´family´, the Nigerian distanced himself with a return back to Merseyside.
Yobo: "It´s a difficult one for me because Everton is like family to me. The supporters, the manager, the chairman, everyone.
"But I am enjoying myself at the moment at Fenerbahce and the most important thing is being happy, and towards the end, I wasn´t happy. I am contracted to Everton but I dont really think I´ll be going back there.
"Because the most important thing is even if I go back there, and I am not happy, that wont be good.
"I can´t thank the supporters enough, and I enjoyed my time at Everton. Some of my best memories in my career were at Everton and I can never forget that."

Re: 4: Joey Yobo - left-over Turkey
I wonder if we'll try to hold out for the €8m we want... or let him go for less ?
Shame.. I always liked Joey
..btw.. from the note above it doesn't look like he fell out with Moyes

Can't say that I'm too fussed about him not coming back. Always thought he was a disaster waiting to happen. Probably won't get a lot for him though.

We could still get the 16 year old Yakubu back though when he has gained some experience. I still dont think the 8 month old Anichebe is ready though.
