If he's not going anywhere and he's under contract, I would assume he'd be back for pre-season training or he'll be breaking his contract.

It's like a new signing!

Is he not gone yet ??... frigging hell... he wants to go doesn't he?... unless he's kissed & made up as well with Moyes we may as well get shot to the highest bidder... surely his agent can find him a club that meets somewhere near our valuation...

...for my money he's still a bloody good player but if he wants out let him go

Re: 4: Joey Yobo - left-over Turkey

Post  Sheep Flavour on Sat 16 Jul 2011, 9:08 pm

Joey Yobo's proposed move to Fenerbache has hit a major snag with the Turkish Champions becoming involved in a match fixing scandal.

The Blues and Fenerbache were in discussions over the price of the fee for Yobo, with the Blues wanting a pre agreed 6m, and Fenerbache only offering around 3m for Yobo.

All that has been put on the back burner now as Fenerbache along with Trabzonspor have been caught up in the match fixing scandal with club officials and some players being hauled in for interviews by the local fuzz.

If found guilty Fenerbache could be docked points, stripped of their title, kicked out of European competition and even relegated, which as you could see would be a major stumbling block in Joey's proposed move.

The fans were obviously slightly miffed by all of this and riots took place across Turkey last night.

For the Blues though, we will have to wait and see.

I know he's a bit of a joke amongst Evertonians, but Yobo is a fantastic defender the vast majority of the time. He'd do really well at a promoted club or mid table prem club. I know know he said he liked challenging for honours at Fener, but now it seems the whole league's a bit of a sham, maybe someone like Bolton would come in for him if they sold Cahill.

True, but let's be honest, he's good in the CB position, but shite in the others. Similar to Jags in that regard who is shite when playing defensive CM.

I would think so as well. He's a solid defender, albeit with rather poor distribution, but still a solid defender.

He's not that much worse than Jags, Cahill (Gary), Samba etc and they are worth 10-20m apparently Shocked

Everton on alert as Benteke wants a move from Standard Liege

Everton are considering a cut-price move for Christian Benteke after the 20-year old striker admitted he wants to quit Standard Liege.
Everton were one of several Barclays Premier League clubs to have scouts watching on Thursday night, as Benteke led Standard's attack in their 1-0 Europa League qualifying round win over Helsingborg.
Manager David Moyes would like Tottenham's Peter Crouch but can't afford him.
Moyes, meanwhile, believes Everton are close to finalising a new long-term deal for Marouane Fellaini.
Fellaini has been described by Everton chairman Bill Kenwright as one of the club's 'untouchables' and Moyes said: 'I think the chairman is moving much closer to agreeing a deal with Fellaini.'
Everton yesterday sold Joseph Yobo to Fenerbahce for 3million and are keen on Manchester City's Nedum Onuoha.

Is this for real ???????

Perhaps the deal is that Fener can have him for 3million, but he has to come back and play our reserve team fixtures in the week. Very Happy

3m is indeed a low amount for an international proven Prem defender. I feel a bit cheated, but I guess it also means that we are not selling Jagielka.

Yes his value is 5 - 6 million I think. well we got som e good value from him especially in the first few years. I would have liked to keep him to be honest but once you fall out with moyes thats probably the end of your everton career.....mayb ethere is some connection to Yak and the reasons he seems frozen out.

according to the Echo it's more like 2m

http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/everton-fc/everton-fc-news/2011/08/23/everton-fc-joseph-yobo-s-transfer-delayed-by-jon-obi-mikel-father-s-kidnapping-100252-29284805/

also sounds like Yak is going to sit out the season on his fat arse so he can get a free next year, the lazy good for nothing twat. Pip should have a word with him before issuing his next rallying cry to the fans about purse-tightening.
