Re: 19: Magaye Gueye - Promising Star in the Making
Magaye Gueye vowed to do his best to impress in the final six games of the season. The Frenchman admitted he had some pre-match nerves ahead of this full Premier League debut against Wolves on Saturday. But the 20 yr-old nearly marked the occasion with a goal and admitted he was relishing being offered a chance to make an impact in the first team as a result of Everton’s injury problems.
“David Moyes is a very good manager, he talks to me sometimes and says that he trusts me and he is confident in me” he said. “He says I am one for the future, he wants to me learn and watch the other players” “We are without some very important players because of injury, we don’t have Mikel Arteta, Tim Cahill, Louis Saha & Marouane Fellaini” added the French under-21 international. “I would rather these players were not injured because if Mikel wasn’t injured I could learn a lot, but it’s good to have the chance to play.”
As Gueye sprinted through at Molineux at the weekend it looked like he would cap his full debut with a dream goal. It wasn’t to be – but he remains focussed on making his mark if any further opportunities are forthcoming.
“I thought I was offside and everything happened so quickly,” Gueye told evertonfc.com. “The goalkeeper was very quick off his line and the defender got there quickly too,. I just pushed the ball forward a bit too much and the keeper just saved it with his feet. “It was my first game and I was very stressed and nervous but maybe next time I can do better,” he continued. “I’d like to play in every game and maybe score three goals and get some assists.”

Re: 19: Magaye Gueye - Promising Star in the Making
Prospect Magaye Gueye hopes to make himself a regular fixture in the Everton first team next season. The 20-year-old Frenchman plans to hit the ground running when the players return to Finch Farm for pre-season training next week and impress manager David Moyes sufficiently to earn a place in the starting line-up for the Premier League curtain raiser against Tottenham. Gueye broke through into the senior set-up towards the end of last season and impressed with a series of cameo displays, earning himself two league starts.
Now the France under-21 international says that after his debut year in the English football has brought him up to speed, he is ready to make an impact. “Next season hopefully I can play more games,” said Gueye “I think this first year was more about settling in and learning about English football. “I think I have already got better in my time here. I have got more used to the style of play as it is different from France where the football is not as physical. That is the biggest difference I have had to get used to. "My objective is to come back and have a really good pre-season, get really fit and strong, impress the manager and get into the team for the first game. I need to get a bit stronger, keep working hard and believe in myself. If I am on the pitch then I am happy. “I like it at Everton and I am here for five years. My aim is to play more games now and improve as a player in the English league.”
Gueye reckons his best position is just behind the striker – though he is happy to play anywhere. “I can play on the left or on the right and up front – that is not a problem,” he said. “But my favourite position is probably just behind the striker.

That's too bad. He could be a bit of a spark plug coming off the bench, or even be close to a starting spot depending on how the team is doing.Super wrote:Apparently out for a couple of months.

When I was thinking of who would cover in Drenthe's absence I named half the youth side before remembering about Maggy, got to say, thought he had his best game last night.
