I did think that we repayed the favour when Cahill got caught in the face by Jason Robert's high foot. He could have easily gone to ground and rolled over a few times. Roberts was already on a yellow for taking his shirt off when he scored so I think he would have been off. Instead, Cahill stayed on his feet lifted his hand to say he was ok and shook hands with Roberts. Fair play to Pedersen and Cahill, that is the way it should be.

Contrast the managers:

Fat Sam: "he should have gone"
Magic Moyes: "I told him off"..

Cahill took a high traling leg tackle against Villa, and reacted the same way. Limped a couple of steps, brushed the mud from his thigh, and got back on with it. Saved a booking for Milner (?), who then have gone in the last few minutes for a terribe tackle on a determined Yobo. Pip is much the same. Kuyt would have got the red had Pip gone to ground in the Twattenburg derby....and so on....

So why do we consistently get marked down by the officials in the Fair Play thingee?

If Pienaar signs a 5 year deal, then we could possibly afford to cash in, not that we all want that as we obviously don't, but it would have to be a very big amount indeed.
I really can't imagine an Everton team without these two at the moment though without thinking of Stoke or Blackburn.

It's a big summer for us coming up. If we start selling players that are starters (like Arteta and Pienaar), we are defo a selling club not aiming any higher than where we currently are.

Selling our best players would be a massive mistake. We need to aim up the table, not looking over our shoulders towards the relegation zone.

Manchester City are still looking to flex their spending muscles by offering 20m for Everton's 28-year-old midfielder Mikel Arteta. Arsenal are likely to provide the main competition as they search for a replacement for the seemingly Barcelona-bound Cesc Fabregas.

20 mill is a lot of money. Arteta is a great player, but he is not the best midfielder in the Premiership. If City wanted a midfielder, why go for Arteta? Why not go all out for Lampard or Fabregas for example? Why not out muscle Barca for Barcas' own players?

5mil + Ireland + Onuoha and i'd probably be tempted to sell. Knowing Citteh, they'd probably offer that as well.

Taking away my dislike for Ireland, he'd probably be an acceptable replacement for Arteta, would just be worried whether he's disciplined enough to play in centre midfield with Fellaini.
