That's the key mate, instead of saying "NO!" all alone, by itself, you should have said, "What do you think?", that gives you a bit of time to start thinking more about your reply (because a pause is exactly the same as NO!).

Then when she tells you what she thinks (this could take some time... or she might just through it right back with "I asked first"), you can say, "well I know its early days and we're still getting to know each other, but I really like you."

Then shut up and see what she says, if you're in luck she will leave it like that, if not she will ask if she is your girlfriend then, and if you still think its too early, just say so, but maybe say it more gently, like "Well, we're still getting to know each other so hopefully that's the way it'll turn out, but I don't want to rush you".

If she says outright that she wants to be your girlfriend and you don't want her to be, then tell her that also, but again in a gentle way, "I like you but not sure if I'm ready for a relationship yet, but I'd like us to stay friends if that's alright with you."

You just need to say more than a one word answer, and if you are only interested in shagging around then say so from the outset.

Oh we spoke about it for about 3 hours did my head in.

As for doing it on my own I was literally doing it on my own, she just led there, didnt let me do anything else to her, wouldnt do anything to me.

My mates brother told me a similar story and when I am trying to concentrate and I get frustrated and my mates brothers voice pops into my head going "DO SOMETHING TO MEEEEEEEE!!!!!!" it put me off a bit.
