Bill Kenwright will move to safeguard David Moyes’ future by offering the Everton manager a new long-term contract. Moyes, who has two years to run on his current deal, is known to have had misgivings over the club’s prospects amid deepening financial gloom, and was among those considered by Aston Villa after ill-health forced Gerard Houllier to quit last season. Kenwright, who appointed Moyes in 2002, will open talks in the New Year.

He still needs to big-up his players.
After saying all the right things about Hibbo etc, he then finished the interview I heard with "The current players are not as good as the ones we've had in the past, but ........................."
