To be fair SAF is very good at spotting young talent. He discovered Rooney before anyone else. Wink

See Ross Barkley scored again for Sheff Wed in their 2-1 win against the mighty Posh. Think that is 4 goals he has scored now for Wednesday.

Let's hope he has learned something at Wednesday. It's a pity that he will just be a bench player though.

Am I correct in stating if he plays for us. He can only join Sheff Wed on loan ie you cannot play for more than 3 teams in one season

http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/sport/leeds-united/latest-whites-news/leeds-united-hoping-to-extend-loan-of-everton-ace-barkley-1-5391835

Leeds united will hold talks with Everton over the weekend with a view to extending midfielder Ross Barkley’s loan at Elland Road.

United manager Neil Warnock is planning to speak with his Everton counterpart, David Moyes, inset, in the next 48 hours with Barkley’s deal set to expire next week.

The 19-year-old’s month-long stay at Leeds ends after Tuesday’s match at Middlesbrough but Leeds will look to retain Barkley for the rest of the Championship term.

Barkley, pictured far right, has started three league games for United and will be part of their squad at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Leeds were one of a number of Championship clubs who expressed an interest in him last month but the teenager is highly-rated by Everton and could yet be recalled. Warnock said: “I’ll be talking to David Moyes over the weekend. He said he’d let him come for a few games and we’d have a chat nearer the time.

“You just don’t know with loan situations but we’ll see what develops.

“He’s still in my thoughts, very much so.”

The youngster was not involved in the squad that lost 1-0 at Middlesbrough on Tuesday night, and he has now returned to Goodison Park.
"I spoke to David Moyes at Everton," United boss Neil Warnock told the club's official website. "He wants him to play and I couldn't guarantee him that.
"He's done well, he's a smashing player, but he needs to play games and I can't guarantee that."
The Everton youngster joined the club on January 11 and made four appearances during his short stay with the club.

Can he go out on loan to anyone else or has he used up his quota of clubs for the season?

Moyes clearly doesn't reckon he's ready to play for us, and I think he's right, so he wants him playing week in week out at Championship level.

Post  The President on Thu 18 Apr 2013, 7:21 pm

Everton defender Leighton Baines believes teenage midfielder Ross Barkley has shown he can cope with the big-game pressure and that is why he will become a key player in future.
The 19-year-old has started two of the last three matches, both away from home, and earned plaudits for his performances.
"He has an abundance of talent but the manager is trying to pick the moments when to play him," said the England left-back. "Nothing fazes him. He is such a good player and does not get fazed by any occasion."

Loved his little turn and back heel to beat Arteta, made space for a curling shot that missed by inches.
