Because

1. Everton are shit
2.There is a global economic crisis on, and people haven't got money to throw on shit.

Cheers. Might not have to watch now. Just seen the goals on SSN. Nice finish from Arteta.

He was ok, definately more comfortable as a CB than a midfielder but Stevie Wonder could see that.

Sheff Utd were very poor too.

I know it was only sheffield united, but to come back from a goal down and turn it 'round so quickly, (basically putting the result beyond doubt) is a good performance. If United had done it, we'd all be saying credit to them for showing their class and dispatching the lower league team with ease. COYB!!! FTRS!!!

I thought the game was good value for 13.
Bit of an early scare but after that it was a good confidence booster.
Hibbo was brilliant. 5-6 excellent crosses (one duff one, but hey). Looked good with Barkley.
This is going to sound terrible from a bluenose (I spit in anticipation) but I can see Barkley developing into a Stevie Me type (The better things about him). Surging runs just outside the box, playing easy 1-2s, with a kick like a mule in both feet. He even has the Stevie Me running style with his hands held close to his chest. Anyone else think he has a bit of Gazza about him too? With the hair cut, he wouldn't look out of place in a photo next to Dixie, Troup etc.
Rodders looked better inside, but Fellaini? What's happening there? Either can't be fit, or is looking to go in January?
Vic looked better, but I think it was the standard of defending that did that.
Anyway, Blackburn and beyond!
cheers

The main thing seems to be that the team was more balanced last night..

Wash your mouth out. He's got better touch and close control than Gerrard. Gerrard was all blood and thunder, his game was about pace and power, Barkley has that, but looks deft and skillful with it.

I half get what you're saying, though. But you rarely if ever see Gerrard beat a man with a feint. Barkley does it all the time.

It's the direct runs he makes and commiting the defenders, which makes space for a player alongside him. He's everything the press and the club are saying about him. Is wide midfield his preferred role?

I actually tweeted him when he was first on twitter to ask what his preferred position was. He said (helpfully Rolling Eyes ) "anywhere in midfield."
