His answer was No.1:Players, No:2 Players, No 3: Players because they are the only people that he wants to be influenced by his words. But what we now see in increasingly more extreme examples over the last few seasons due to the level of money at stake is managers backing players to the hilt (unless they want shot of them) regardless of what they have done or have perceived to have done before evidence has even been looked at. (Or in Doglish's case he wont look at the evidence.) People looking at from the outside might perceive the manager to be one-eyed or a liar need to know that the manager is merely just protecting the player, plain and simple regardless of how ridiculous it makes him look. Doglish is a fully signed up member of this club. Nothing new here but its seems to be getting more extreme and more ridiculous.

Its totally understandable but what annoys me is the media dont push the manager when it is clear he is not saying it as he truly sees it. Its usually just laughed off rather then probed further, even by pundits. Even McLeish came out yesterday defending Alan Hutton over a reckless challenge that has put out Shane Long for six weeks and will miss the Euro Play-Off.

Eventually post-match interviews will be render useless as managers will refuse to give even semi-objective analysis of what happened in the game and we will just be subjected to a party-political broadcast on behalf of the club.

This seem to be particularly acute in the Sky 3-4-5 clubs.

You're bang on there. I'd kind of thought that without thinking it if you know what I mean, but Dalglish gave it away when he said he wouldn't be looking at the bideo of Rodwell's tackle on Suarez. Whether he knew it or not, he was saying he didn't want to put himself in a position where he might have to criticize one of his players. Moyes has always been one of the few not to use interviews to speak directly to the players. He's usually very honest, but I've definitely noticed recently that he's started to speak to the fans more in interviews - eg that gem about having played three big clubs and Liverpool in the last few weeks. He never used to do that before. I guess he has his reasons.

Now John Terry "welcomes the chance to clear his name".

Well, actually the full quote was "I welcome the chance to clear my name cos I love darkies - wasn't I out with Ashley Cole the other night, or as we call him Nat King Cole, after the darkie who sang all them jazz songs, anyway like I say I was out with Ashley and he's a coon, we're always joking, I go "alright Ashley you big black sambo!" and he goes "alright John, your dad's a drug dealer and your mum's a shoplifter!" and I go "fuck off now Rastas, leave me mum out of it!" and he goes etc etc etc"

That could be repeated for real tomorrow, with a few Bluenoses lined up to deal with him.
I think this could be a good time for us to just go after the Chavs right from the git go.
4 players out from Saturday's line up, plus the Terry and Vila-Boas distractions, (is Torres still banned) and a few of our playes just coming into form.
I hope we do them.

http://newsthump.com/2011/10/24/everyone-suddenly-a-lip-reading-expert/

Sensing an opportunity to add weight to the argument that Chelsea captain John Terry is a prick, everyone is suddenly a qualified lip-reader, it emerged last night.

Terry was seen screaming in the direction of QPR’s Anton Ferdinand, though replays are inconclusive as to the exact words used, unless of course you’re now an expert in that sort of thing.

QPR fan Trevor Colthart told us, “It’s clear as day, he’s quite obviously mouthing ‘I will impregnate your lady friend’ – and I only hope the FA throw the book at him, or at least his genitals.”

Armchair supporter Dave Smith told us, “I’ve watched it a few times, and I’m pretty sure he’s saying ‘Two grand for a personal tour of Stamford Bridge’ – which makes much more sense to me.”

“Though from the other angle it does look like ‘My Dad will do you a good deal if you buy a kilo’. So who knows what he actually said?”

Terry accused of racist abuse

Chelsea supporter’s have backed their captain, with one explaining, “Just because he’s a lying philanderer from a family of criminals and with a track record of taking cash bungs doesn’t make him a racist.”

“If anything, he’s probably too busy being morally reprehensible to even notice the colour of the skin of the people he regularly abuses.”

We contacted lip-reading expert Margaret Willows, who told us, “You called me up because a footballer said something mean to another footballer? Dear God, give me strength.”

What a bunch of morons.
Blues manager Andre Villas-Boas insisted he had not heard the chanting.

"I was concentrating on the game," he said.

Clearly he's learning fast. Dalglish is a good teacher....

So, what were the fans singing? Exactly that is, I get the general idea.

I think it was to the tune of Vincent (Starry starry night) by Don McClean

Anton Ferdinand
with your face so black and grey,
Look out for JT on Match day,
With eyes that know the darkness in his soul.
Shadows on the hills,
The FA don't have the will,
to stop the words John Terry spills,
about color on the snowy linen land.

ok - it probably wasn't those words, or that tune - but that would be the gist I think....

ok I was wrong there were actually chanting "Anton Ferdinand: you know what you are" - which was a reference to what Terry called him - think my version expanded on that a bit.

That song could be extended by adding the shagging stories to it. It really could turn in to a field day for the opposing fans!
