Re: 22. Steven Pienaar - Back (on loan)
Sorry butSuper wrote:Everton boss David Moyes is set to make a SECOND attempt to take Steven Pienaar back to Goodison Park from Spurs. Toffees boss Moyes tried to land the South African midfielder on loan in the summer - just six months after selling him to Tottenham for £3.2m.
That bid was rejected by Spurs boss Harry Redknapp, but it is believed Everton are ready to go back for their former player when the transfer window opens in January.
I know he's been injured and what not, but he's not getting any games then, eh?

He's playing for SPuds in Russia tomorrow night. He better get his gloves and tights out, it'll be freezing bollox weather in Russia.

well I guess that is good value if you didnt sell him for less than 3 million which we had to because of the contract.

Indeed, I'd say on the basis of his Everton performances £6m is a fair price.

Aston Villa are interested in making a move for Steven Pienaar, who has struggled to get games for Spurs this season. They will face competition for the midfielder's signature from Everton and Sunderland.

I'd like him in our team, but we ain't going to spend £6m on a player we sold for less than half that just a year ago.

Re: 22. Steven Pienaar - Back (on loan)
Pienaar not even on the bench for Spuds tonight. His career really has died since he left Everton.
Quite surprised that he is 30 in March. I can't see us spending £6 million on a player that old and, as Hairy said, one that we sold for £2.5 million not so long ago. It will be a loan or nothing IMO.

It makes sense that he is that old since he was at Ajax a long time ago, but like you said, still somewhat surprising in the end.Dixie Land wrote:Pienaar not even on the bench for Spuds tonight. His career really has died since he left Everton.

And yeah, we are not going to buy him, no way. Unless we can get him back for about what we sold him for, let's say £2M, then I think Moyes would go for it. Since we don't have £2M, it'll be a loan, if anything...

Re: 22. Steven Pienaar - Back (on loan)
One player likely to leave White Hart Lane is Steven Pienaar, who is expected to go out on loan for the remainder of the season. Pienaar is thought to favour a return to Everton, but Sunderland and Aston Villa are also interested.

Re: 22. Steven Pienaar - Back (on loan)
If we did loan him for the rest of the season then it would be a huge vote of no co confidence for Royston Drenthe, who plays in the same position, and it would probably put an end to any hope of signing him.

Royston is a left footer on the right, pienaar is a right footer on the left. Thay're not really that similar.
