A signing.................at last must be end of January already.

I think {hope} he could turn into a really good signing for us.

He's scored 10 goals in 60 games for Utd - more than our strikers - maybe he should play up front

Spoiler:
Am I taking it that his performances for Ireland have not been top notch?
If he can emulate Cars as a wrecking ball, with a hoof of a shot, then 500,000 ain't bad.
Also, can he take free kicks from the left side of the pitch?

I go to every Rep of Ireland home game. I can't really say that much about his game because I've never really noticed him on the pitch. This lad goes missing. Hope he turns out to be a great signing but he'll have to really prove me wrong (it wouldn't be the first time that I have been).

Made me laugh.

I thought he did ok today. Played a good ball into Cahill in the first half and made some good tackles.

He did go missing for a long part of the game but so did the rest of the team.

I agree mate. He is only 24 and has made 60 appearances for Man Utd. Moyes could well shape him into a good player.

I was talking to a Manure season ticket holder (x 4 - his brothers use them) last night and he thinks we've got a gem, mind you he's Irish as well so has seen Gibson more than most MU fans.

I think it is an initial 500,000 which could raise to 2 million depending on certain things, such as if he makes 100 appearances, if we win the FA Cup, if he is the first man on mars. Things like that, a bit like Rooney's deal to Man Utd when we got extra money when he won the league, won the Champions League and won the scotch egg eating championship.

Re: 4: Darron Gibson - Another Fergie bargain?

Post  Yankthattoffee on Fri 24 Feb 2012, 12:25 am

Everton midfielder Darron Gibson has withdrawn from the Republic of Ireland squad to face the Czech Republic next week, the Barclays Premier League club have announced.
The former Manchester United player had been included in Giovanni Trapattoni's 26-man squad for the friendly at the Aviva Stadium on February 29.
However, the Blues have announced he has sustained a knee injury, the seriousness of which is unknown.
The 24-year-old had been set to accompany club team-mates Seamus Coleman and Shane Duffy to Dublin before sustaining the injury which is still being assessed.
Gibson's injury is a worry for Everton boss David Moyes although the club do not have a game until March 3 when they travel to QPR given their scheduled clash against Liverpool this weekend will be played at a later date due to the Reds' participation in the Carling Cup final against Cardiff.
Gibson has played seven games for Everton since joining the club from Manchester United and he is yet to taste defeat with the Toffees.

Think it was suppose to be for 4 weeks. He is not cup-tied, so could play in the semi-final & final when we get there.

Never thought I'd say it, but he's a big miss. Anchors the midfield really well.
