Classic situation where Moyes just over thought it tonight. Start with your best team then take players off if needed.

You have just made Gerrard a legend Moyes. On your 10th anniversary as well Moyes. Congratulations..

I reckon that Gerrard has been a legend with the RS since a certain night in 2005 (if not before).

Everton boss David Moyes:

"Liverpool were the better side but we gave away the second and third goals. We were at fault tonight.

"I made changes but you have to try and plan what you are doing when you have three games in a week. If I'd had a draw against Liverpool and a draw against Tottenham at the weekend I may have taken that - but I've got three points, not two."

In a stupid kinda way I'd almost have preferred to lose to Spuds & draw tonight.... we were disgraceful tonight & Moyes should hold his hands up & accept he made a selection error

You won't believe how bad we were mate.

Anichebe was shocking. He is not a professional footballer surely?

Strac hardly touched the ball, had one decent header straight at Reina.

Coleman looked like an amateur Irish footballer... oh, wait.

Hibbert twatted the ball as high and as hard as he could whenever it got near to him.

Pienaar was like a headless chicken and I am not sure if he even knows what the left wing is. He also could have been sent off.

Drenthe is a nutjob and could have seen red.

Rodwell has the confidence of a mouse and couldn't hit a barn door with a shot. He is also incapable of passing the ball forwards.

So, some positives after all, then.

Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

I thought the kit looked nice. Very Happy
Just read thru the entire match thread, and it was depressing stuff to read. Utter utter wank. I honestly can't understand how Moyes can drop J5 for a more or less un-fit Jags. And why not start with Jelavic who scored against Spurs and not feature Osman who was arguable our best player against Spurs. Mind boggling stuff this.

Why not rest more important players like Fellaini & Howard - at least that makes sense!

Maybe we thought we could just waltz in there, put the boots out and things would take care of itself? Based on some of the comments in the match thread here it appears as if we just weren't up for it.

I can only just hope we can get over this and it doesn't effect Saturday's performance.

Moyes will make another 6 changes on Saturday. We'll probably see the side that should have played last night.
