Everton 2 vs West Brom 0 (McAuley o.g., Anichebe)

Post  Barry Horne's Equaliser on Tue 27 Mar 2012, 10:10 pm

The games are coming thick and fast now. Following two 2-0 wins away from home it's back to the Old Lady to take the spring out of the boinging Baggies step. We've already stuffed them 1-0 once this season but we're a different prospect now.

Fully expect to see Ben Foster needing treatment for his sore back on Sunday morning, such is how often he'll be picking the ball out of his own net. Fully expect to see Roy Hodgson needing treatment for his sore head on Sunday morning, such is how often he'll reverse headbutt the dugout. Fully expect to see Chris Brunt laughing along with the clever limericks made up about him.

9-0: Hibbert triple hat trick. Obviously.

Moyes will give the first team a day off and pick a side with an average age of twelve and three quarters. 3-0 to the Blues, a hat-trick for George Green.

Re: Everton 2 vs West Brom 0 (McAuley o.g., Anichebe)

Post  Knight of Thorgothshire on Sat 31 Mar 2012, 2:49 pm

David Moyes makes two changes to his Everton defensive line with right-back Tony Hibbert and centre-half Phil Jagielka starting instead of Phil Neville and Johnny Heitinga. The third switch from their midweek FA Cup quarter-final victory at Sunderland sees South African attacking midfielder Steven Pienaar, cup-tied for the Stadium of Light clash, replace Magaye Gueye. West Brom counterpart Roy Hodgson keeps an unchanged defence but brings Somen Tchoyi, Paul Scharner and Chris Brunt into his midfield. Winger James Morrison (knee ligament) could miss the rest of the season, while Shane Long starts in attack instead of Marc-Antoine Fortune.

Yet this is the line-up:

Everton: Howard, Hibbert, Jagielka, Heitinga, Baines, Osman, Gibson, Fellaini, Pienaar, Cahill, Jelavic.

Subs: Mucha, Stracqualursi, McFadden, Distin, Neville, Gueye, Anichebe.

Something else to look out for at Goodison Park. Referee Peter Walton is taking charge of his final Premier League game today. He flies over to the United States on Monday to become the head of referees in the MLS.

Osman with a header from a sweet Baines cross, but the header is about 2 yards wide of the post. Promising start.

Nice link up play between Baines, Pienaar and Jelavic who passes back to Pienaar who in turn feeds Gibson outside the box and he takes the shot, but it's over the bar.

GOAL - Fulham 1-0 Norwich - Clint Dempsey (2 mins)
Fulham had failed to score in their previous four matches but they are ahead with their first attack of the match. Bryan Ruiz's angled shot is parried by John Ruddy and Clint Dempsey, following up, reacts quickly to put the loose ball into the net using his thigh.
