rumour has it that he has taken a pay cut, forgone his signing on fee from everton and his loyalty bonus from spurs just to come back here - thats what i call desire to play for this club. (even if he did leave just to realise this). I doubt certain other players would do anything like that for this club.

This lad https://twitter.com/Kayne_EFC is outside Finch Farm right now meeting the players as they come out of training.

Apparantly Osman has said Pienaar is in there, keep an eye on that, he seems detirmined to see Pienaar.

Steven Pienaar is a full-time Everton player again after the 30 year-old put pen to paper on what is believed to be a new four-year deal at Goodison Park. The South African underwent a medical earlier ahead of a 4.5m transfer from Tottenham Hotspur .
His agent, Rob Moore, released a photograph of him inking his new contract, sealing a return to Goodison for the midfielder two and a half months after his emotional farewell after the Newcastle game.

Fuck me we've been well stitched up there. He's got a couple of seasons left in him, so essentially we're paying double bubble. And a four and half million premium that we won't see back, cos he'll have no resale value at the age of 32.

Great to have him back, but if Sky have got it right we've been done over badly.

Word is he's getting 50k a week (Toffeeweb), so that means the four year deal plus transfer fee is costing us 15m.

Quite a lot of money for a 30 year old?

dropped his wage demands tho, so, over the time it may be right

if he gets us that extra 1 or 2 places higher up the league, then its worth it

I know that there are question marks over his age, fee and wages but we looked so much better when he came back last season so I am made up. I actually think he could help us to a top 6 finish this season and see European football back at Goodison next season. Pienaar returning could also make the difference in keeping Leighton Baines and that is vitally important to our season.

I agree with all of that. Pienaar is a great creative hardworking player - clearly a typical Moyes type of player. He might have more or less zero sell on value, but it's not like we paid $10M+ for him.

I am really made up and can't wait for the season to start.

You would do well to spend another 4.5m to buy someone that is more creative then anyway that we already have, slot straight into the team and improve the players around him. Money well spent.
