Also Dan, you can give him a number, now. 26!

He did very well indeed. Has a lot of composure for such a young lad , I only noticed one mistake from him all game. Roberto has clearly seen his potential and is rewarding it.

Glad to hear Helen. Also, you know with Moyes we'd probably have had the first team with no young lads playing. Great to see Bobby giving the likes of Stones and Barkley a chance. COYB!

He joined as a right back didn't he? But I remember reading that he was being tipped as a future centre-half. Is Martinez looking at him and thinking of a defensive three of Stones Jags and Distin? He does seem to give off a vibe of a future international star, even though its early days.

Howard
Stones Jags Distin/Alcaraz
Coleman Gibson/Fellaini Deufelue/Barkley Pienaar/Osman Baines/Oviedo
Mirallas
Jelli/Kone/Ani

really starting to look like we have options within the squad if Barkley and Stones are about to come good, even if we sell Baines or Felli.

I thought he looked really poor when he came on for Coleman last night. He offered nothing going forward and was caught horribly out of position at least once when he was defending. I think I'd rather have Hibbert for the derby if Coleman is ruled out. Sure, Hibbo won't be doing any overlapping or slamming in goals, but he won't let any fucker past him and will quite possibly break Suarez's cock.

To be fair Coleman didn't look too good either. West Brom seemed to double up on him.

Also, given the inept team performance and dodgy pitch, he possibly deserves the benefit of the doubt this time.

tough call .. Stones is the future but may be exposed... Hibbo is very experienced...

I assume Seamus is out... so I'd go what I consider the safest... I'm thinking Hibbo would be best

I noticed that Hibbo did not warm up at half time with the other benchers.
At the time I thought Coleman was already hurting and Hibbo was about to come on for the second half. (But no)

What did everyone think of our new number 7?

From what we saw, he looks quick, enjoys a pirouette and has a heavy touch. Of course, he hasn't played for a while so the touch should improve. Time will tell if he adds anything. I'm hopeful.

I'd play stones. Hibbo is ancient and hasn't played in donkey's years. I think he'll defo come good. Bit inexperienced and can make the odd mistake, but he's got the martinez attitude - he plays Sin Miedo.

liking him more each game... makes a few mistakes but he is confident on the ball, reads the game well, can pass the ball, good in the air & a good tackler....

has a very strong future imo

I was expecting a Terry Butcher game from the lad.
Did you notice he didn't just lay there screaming like a Kopite. No, he calls the ref's attention to the gaping wound, and asks his permission to leave the field. Back on the field in, what, a minute?  I hope he got a tetanus shot.

I would be interested to see Stones and Jags as a CB pair, especially as Distin is reaching the end of his career.

Stones just too late for Brazil, unless Hodgson gets a rash of injuries.

He's a brilliant example of keeping yourself in shape. 36 and there's few players who really test him for pace and virtually none who beat him for power.

Only a few weeks ago I thought the lad needed a lot more time before being a regular the 1st team. His performance against Swansea was a real worry.

Keep proving me wrong kiddo.

He still has a Yobo moment, but they're getting fewer.
Can you imagine RM arriving 6 years ago?
