He's going on holiday, and will discuss it when he returns. I think that's fair enough.

No body was interested in him while he sat on the bench at Shittey , Everton gave him a second chance.
If he wants to wait until July , No deal he's being a greedy bar-steward.

Yeah, sounds like he is stalling for time. Its not like he didn't know he had to decide at the end of the season.

I am a bit disappointed in him to be honest. I thought he really appreciated what Bobby did for him, obviously not!

+1 Disappointed and surprised.

1. He is at the arse end of his career
2. He needs to decide what is more important to him; money or football
3. Ideally he would like to balance both, but it might come down to who offers the longest contract
4. He owes us nothing, he came to us and played his heart out, was in the team on merit

Can't see him being as good as last season for the next 2 years.

It would be a good signing and he'd be cheap as well - we can actually afford him!

Great news if he signs, maybe too long a contract, but would we be able to replace him for the same money,

I hope we are saving all our serious money for a top class striker or two.

Looking forward to see what we can do next season,

agree it would be great news ... Barry & McCarthy were simply superb together last season... don't know where Gibbo fits in now though...

We need cover in that position (especially with Euro fixtures) which Gibbo provides....when he's fit

3 Year contract smacks of desperation! I would have offered a 2 yr take it or leave it offer. Its not as if he's top top class and probably only has one good season left in him. Disappointed to be honest - I thought we were past the dark days of Kevin Campbell style contracts.

I think it's ok.. he was class last season.. if he does the same next season then great ... if he starts to go downhill I'm sure we could convince LA Galaxy or Shanghai shitehawks to take him off our hands for a small fee, for his last hurrah payday like..

I'm ok with this...

Not a done deal yet.

Despite reports claiming Gareth Barry‘s permanent return to Everton was imminent, local news reporter Greg O Keeffe has been quick to pour water on such rumours.

Speaking via twitter Greg said:

“Believe reports Barry will sign today or tomorrow are wide of mark. Talks still on going but he hasn’t made up his mind yet on next step”.

Although widely rumoured to sign for Everton, Barry has yet to commit himself to any deal and has remained silent on his future. With this almost certainly to be his last deal it would appear that the midfielder is taking his time over the decision with a number of clubs said to be interested.

We can't be giving 33 year olds 3 year contracts. 1 year will a 1 year extension depending on appearances.
