Manager Roberto Martinez wants to hold on to the 6ft 8ins forward because he feels he offers Everton a different option up front.
The Spaniard is keen to strengthen his squad to compete in the Europa League next season and is adamant Traore could still be a success at Goodison Park.
Martinez told the Liverpool Echo: 'Lacina is someone we really believe can bring something different to the team and he is someone we will try to see if we can get an opportunity to sit down and see what is the next chapter.'

Yes, it gives us the option to play a someone who is injured up front

Post  Made 4 Gwladys on Sat 24 May 2014, 5:11 pm

Tottenham have made an offer to Monaco to take striker Lacina Traore on-loan until the end of next season.

Traore, who moved to Monaco from Anzhi for £14million during the January transfer window, finished the campaign on-loan with Everton.

He managed one goal for the Toffees but his time was trashed by injury – and Spurs now want to offer him another shot at English football.

Monaco have already received interest from Hull City and Stoke City, along with Everton about bagging the giant front man, but Tottenham are offering a £2million loan fee.

Spurs are kicking ahead with transfer plans despite not having a manager, with technical director Franco Baldini in charge of deals.

Lacina Traoré looks set to stay with Everton after Monaco agreed to another loan move for the Ivorian.
It is common knowledge that Roberto Martinez has been set on giving Traoré, who was apparently spotted at Lime Street station yesterday, the chance to prove himself with the Blues after his first loan spell was wrecked by hamstring injuries.

It now appears as though both parties will get the chance to see how he adapts to the Premier League with the arrangement of a second loan transfer.

The 6' 8" striker joined Everton in January but played just 62 minutes of football, scoring in his only start in the FA Cup against Swansea City.

Re: 28. Lacina Traore - apparently on loan to Everton

Post  Super on Fri 11 Jul 2014, 11:16 am

Roberto Martinez says he’s interested in bringing Lacina Traore back to Everton – but revealed no deal with AS Monaco has been agreed for Ivory Coast international.

Traore spent the second half of last season on loan at Goodison, though a hamstring injury restricted the giant striker to just two appearances.

The 26-year-old netted one goal during that time, on his debut in the 3-1 FA Cup fifth-round victory over Swansea in February.

“At the moment we are still talking with Monaco,” Martinez said on his Friday morning press briefing. “With Lacina, it is a three-way conversation and it will [go] a bit further down the line before we take a final decision.

“But we always wanted Lacina to be with us and to play his football with us, and that hasn’t changed at all.”

Hopefully by "exploring" they mean realising it's a shit idea and actually buying a boss striker.

Lacina Traore scored four first-half goals before being sent off as Monaco beat amateurs St Jean Beaulieu 10-2 in the round of 64 of the French Cup.

The 6ft 8in ex-Everton striker, 25, was shown red at the break following an altercation with Yann Mariotti, who was also dismissed

Strange that clubs competing in the same competition don't put this clause in the loan agreement. Juve did this with Kingsley Coman last year vs Bayern to their cost. When he came on he changed the game and put them out of the CL.

Didn't Chelsea play a Champions League semi-final against Courtois when he was on loan to someone? Was it Athletico? Seem to recall he played a blinder too and maybe was involved in knocking them out???
