Swansea 3 v Everton 0 (COC 3rd Round)

Right might as well get this one out of the way. Defence is shit, we are shit in this competition, so only one outcome.......... an Everton win.

1-2 (winning goal coming in extra time).

Seamus Coleman will miss Everton's Capital One Cup third round match at Swansea City due to the same head injury that kept him out of Sunday's Barclays Premier League defeat to Crystal Palace.

Coleman sustained the problem late on in Thursday night's 4-1 win over Wolfsburg and speaking to evertontv, manager Roberto Martinez confirmed the right-back will be unavailable for Tuesday's trip to South Wales.

Pretty sure he'll send out a B team for this, with the derby coming up. Bad enough having a fucking terrible defence without having a knackered fucking terrible defence.

5-5 Hibbo hat-trick, lose on pens after Kone's wheelchair topples over.

Thor, its been a bad season so far, poor start too much rotation ,It can only get better, starting with a 1-3 win for the toffees and a Derby win to end the week. lol!

The League Cup presents Everton with one of the most difficult games on the fixture list; Swansea City away.

Its not the most difficult game the Toffees will face this season but it stands out from the League Cup games considering the attacking talent on both teams and the likelihood of changes.

Weve attempted to name the potential side Roberto Martinez could take into the fixture.

GK Joel

Joel could step into the side to give Tim Howard the chance to rest. The American is one of the best goalkeepers around but Joel is a solid deputy.

RB Tony Hibbert

Hibbert is expected to recover from a knock ahead of this game. He provides experience on the right hand side.

CB John Stones

One of the most talented defenders currently playing in England. He should be fine slotting in on the right hand side of central defence.

CB Antolin Alcaraz

The 30-year-old guarantees that the experience stays in the heart of the back four. Its a good chance for him to express himself.

LB Luke Garbutt

Garbutt is a youngster with a promising future and someone who can prove hes been studying Leighton Baines closely in this game.

RM Christian Atsu

Didnt have the best of games against Crystal Palace but should be slightly fresher as he was taken off after just over an hour.

CM Muhamed Besic

Besic can provide some protection to the defence. Hes a holding player and well suited to making it difficult for the Swans.

CM Darron Gibson

Gibson could be the man that Martinez tasks with sitting in the middle and controlling the game. He can drop back if the side is under pressure.

CM Leon Osman

Osman also provides experience and he could be the man who pushes furthest forward from midfield and sits in behind the main striker.

LM Aiden McGeady

McGeady can inject a lot of pace into the team off of the left. He can also switch and play over on the right during the game if asked to.

ST Kevin Mirallas

Mirallas is normally a wide player but he has played up front before and could do so again if Martinez wants to rest Romelu Lukaku and Samuel Etoo.

Who do you want to see starting for Everton against Swansea?

I disagree with the too much rotation bit. I don't think we've rotated any more than we've had to. For me me the poor start is due to poor defensive performances and too many individual errors. We've managed to score at least twice in every game this season so if we can sort out our defensive woes we'll be fine.

Once again, Garry Monk is expected to name almost an entire different starting eleven for Tuesday's Capital One Cup 3rd round match at home against fellow Premier League side Everton.

Monk made ten changes for the 1-0 win against Rotherham United, will he make ten again, and only keep one player from the side that lost 1-0 on Saturday against Southampton?

If he does, we predict that defender Federico Fernandez is the most likely player to keep his place, with the likes of Ashley Williams, Angel Rangel, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Ki Sung Yueng being rested on the bench.

Wilfried Bony is suspended for one game, fortunately it's only a cup game so Gomis is most certainly going to lead the line.

Marvin Emnes returns and gives Garry Monk a different option, possibly out wide if the manager wants to rest his first team wingers - Dyer and Routledge - with Montero getting another chance to impress.

In midfield, Spurs loanee Tom Carroll and youngster Jay Fulton will most likely start again to give them some much needed experience, while Josh Sheehan featured for the under-21s recently so is unlikely to feature.

The cup competitions gives Monk the perfect opportunity to give these sort of players the chance to show what they can do, and to keep their morale up, as Monk doesn't appear to be a manager who likes to continuously make changes to his first team.

If it's good enough for a Monk, it's good enough for us.

Kone, Oviedo, Osman (as punishment) Robles, Browning, Besic, Alcaraz, Atsu and 3 other stiffs

We don't have too many alterntives? Equally, we could do with keeping people fit, for when their are injuries. For example Hibbo as Coleman back up.

Robles

Hibbert Alcaraz Stones Garbutt

Besic Osman

Atsu Mcgeady

Mirallas

Etoo

I don't necessarily think it's entirely the back 4. Howard maybe for a couple.
It's how exposed they seem to be when we go 2-2-6.
Jeez, on Sunday we had a back 2 for the last few minutes.
We've just gone utterly gung ho, and we've been rumbled. 2nd season syndrome for RM?

With the Shyte and United in such turmoil, once again we have a chance to nab 4th spot, but once again we start the season shockingly, and have probably already blown it. On the positive side, only Chelsea have outplayed us, but winning has to become a habit.
