Interesting match. Thought we coped really well going down to 10 men. Stones was clowning around all night with the ball. Hate to knock the lad but needs to know when to go route one. Garbutt seamless again when he came out. Nais did well in deeper role. Really knitted the defence and attack well. Lukaku should have had at least another 3. Barkley had a decent game. That game would have done his confidence good. Mirallas had one of his selfish ineffective nights. Poor decision making and awful shooting. We looked we good going forward, rode or luck a bit but once they missed the peno, their heads went down and we saw it out comfortably.

Well done Blues. cheers

Agree with all that. We seem to have recaptured a bit of our confidence going forward. Need more of the same v Leicester.

The passing game was reminiscent of last season although they didn't press us high really so played into our hands. Playing Nais in withdrawn role against this opposition was really smart move. He was like an Ossie with pace. We still making daft unenforced decisions at the back though.

We definitely seem suited to the more open style of football in Europe rather then the West Brom/ Stoke still of defending deep. Big chance of going far in this competition.

Great win, really enjoyed it…. but…

We were incredibly lucky… AND Lukaku - sure, he scored a hat-trick, but his misses were amongst the worst I've ever seen. Peach of a ball in from Garbutt and WTF did Luka do there?????  Young Boys gave us all the space we needed to play, but the only thing I can really take out of this game except the fantastic result, is that it will boost our confidence.

I dunno, even when we're getting amazing victories, we just look like quite a poor side.

Uh, other positive, kind of, is that if Garbutt learns to defend, he will be a top player. Unfortunately, he'll probably leave at the end of the season. I can definitely see him ending up ManUre or even at the Shite.

PS why do our strikers get caught offside so fucking much? Even when they're not caught, they're fucking offside. Amateurs.

What's the scoop on Stones red?
1 game due to it being none violent?
I hope Macca is OK for Sunday. At least with Oviedo we have decent cover (lacking a bit of sympathy there huh)

I believe so. With a three goal cushion we should be able to cope without him but if they score one it might get a bit nervous at GP.

Did we play last night? Quick glance at the BBC news site, the only thing that seems to have occurred is a penalty by some cunt in a red shirt.

I thought we played well at times last night, whilst the Young Boys created some chances, always felt that we would be able to get another goal if required.

Lukaku missed a couple of sitters, but he was getting more ball in the channels, which is where his strength is.

Don't think the pitch helped, as the ball was hitting the ground and whizzing through a number of times.

Barkley looked backed to his best, although a couple of times he had a shot when there was a player in a better position.

Wish Stones had just lumped the ball forward, instead of pissing about, which resulted in him losing the ball and then giving the penalty away and getting himself sent off. Although, there was two other Everton players near him, so wasn't the last man, maybe a penalty and a yellow card would have been the correct outcome.

Loved how Coleman celebrated when matey boy blasted the penalty over the bar.

Watched match last night (managed to not find out score before I sat down with a couple of beers to watch the recording)

After we went 1-0 down I nearly gave up... so pleased I didn't
We played well - good to see a real team spirit and Lakaku putting in a real shift.

Great Result
