Deserved that goal. Not sure it was a pen but we earned that goal after constant pressure this half. Well done lads.

FT. Great fightback. Shame that we conceded an away goal but I think we can score in Moscow to cancel it out.

Best 45 mins of the season from us I'd say. Could be a turning point?

Played with great intensity, pushed higher up the pitch so less fannying around on our own 18 yard line. Luka genuinely unplayable at times, Garbutt excellent - I wouldn't put Baines back in too quickly - Ossie came on a did some nice stuff as usual.

Excellent.

Sack Martinez though.

Post  RhinoJagz on Thu 12 Mar 2015, 10:19 pm

Just caught the last half hour as I was driving to Belfast but from that 30 mins you can clearly see the players that are trying and ones that are not good enough. Barry looked knackered. Macca was superb covering and tackling for him. Give Barry a rest against Newcastle. He doesn't have the energy to get around the pitch game after game. I was delighted to see Ossie come on. We really miss his cunning and eye for a pass in the danger areas. No coincidence that his presence led to important second goal. Lukaku looked like he had run himself into the ground, Naismith likewise. Didn't see first half so not sure what kind of pressure was put on Howard and Alcaraz? Kone was dreadful. Slow, ponderous, and once hilariously turned his back on around 3 blues in better attacking positions and ran in the opposite direction! Get Ossie and Gibson on the starting 11 against Barcodes.

6 wins in Europe now. Same as the league in 18 fewer games!

Hoping for big Luke to carry on his fine euro form and net a couple.

2-1.
