but (I've asked this question before, so I'm getting a bit anal here) , who ever scored a hatrick as a sub?

I think Ole Gunnar did it once for Utd when they hammered someone 8-9 nil

Found it on Wiki there. 8-1 at Forest, Ole came off the bench and scored 4

Again, could someone with a better brain then I have explain why we signed two wingers and were desperate to hold on to another in the close season?  And didn;t buy someone better to replace Nais?

I stil haven't seen more than a few minutes but I think it was an inspired sub. RM must have decided 3DMs was overkill but using our very own Costa (nark) instead of a genuine wide man fucked them right up.

Did we upset him:

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho swore at Everton counterpart Roberto Martinez following his side's 3-1 defeat at Goodison Park on Saturday. Mourinho was annoyed Martinez had completed his post-match interview before him. (Star)

The papers, as usual, seem to be dwelling on the plight of Chelsea, rather the quality of Nias's threesome.
Whenever we beat United, Chelsea, City or the Shoite, it is usually reported in a way that detracts from our own performance. "What's happened to United?" "Is this Moyes's last game?" "Can Chelsea bounce back from their latest defeat?"
I thought we out-everythinged them on Saturday.
Turning points? Besic getting injured, and Terry heading high over at 2-1.
Off to Swansea on Saturday. Not been there before. Onwards and upwards!

He actually pulled off a couple of gret saves to keep them from falling further behind, have to say I don't think Courtois would have kept out many of Naisy's goals (ok, maybe the second and third).

The Kone save was very decent, but I would have expected any half decent goalkeeper to keep out McCarthy's drive and Lukaku's couple of efforts. Did we have any more shots that I've not thought of?

He got a rush of blood for the third goal in my opinion - the angle was way too tight for Nais to shoot if the keeper stays on his line but he gives Nais the opportunity to play it under him by charging out at him. I'm not sure he could have saved the second - could he have positioned himself differently? Well, maybe - think he was pre-occupied by the possibility that Nais might not shoot and create space by going to Ivanovic's right.

Normally a twat but nice line from Crooks in team of the week column.

Something very interesting is happening in the game when Everton can outmanoeuvre Chelsea off the park and then proceed to outthink them on it. wrote:
