Out for 8 weeks. Mad

Well we knew it was going to be a long one, but that works out as 5th November and I'll take that. It looked like it could have been a lot worse. With the international break just gone and one on the horizon also, he'll only miss six league games coming back at West Ham away on 7th November (assuming that the estimate proves to be accurate), and will be back for the run of more winnable games. It's not the end of the world by any stretch of the imagination.

Everton and England footballer Tom Cleverley and his family were threatened during a break-in at their home.

The attack happened at an address in Hale Barns, Greater Manchester, at about 20:00 BST on Friday.

Police confirmed a man, woman and two-year-old child had been the victims of an aggravated burglary, but said nobody was hurt.

An investigation has been launched by detectives.

I bet if his missus had worked for the police, they would have been arrested by now.

Not having a go, because everyone looks after their own, but if that had been a civilian that had been run down over the water, the murderer wouldn't have been nicked by now. The investigation would just plod along, no pun intended.

Does he have 4 years left on his Martinez contract? If so, what a joke. Get rid.

Following the expiration of his contract with Manchester United, Cleverley joined Everton on 1 July 2015, signing a five-year contract.

That's what I feared. He'll never get a regular starting spot on the team and is really at best an emergency solution for a back-up. IMO.

That much? He's no good going forward and he's no good defensively. I'd much rather give Davies a start ahead of him.

Re: Tom cleverley

Post  Super on Thu 12 Jan 2017, 8:52 am

Tom Cleverley is due to have a medical with Watford today after a loan move was agreed with Everton for the remainder of the season.

The 27-year-old has been at Everton since 2015 but has featured only twice since 5 November and the impending arrival of Morgan Schniederlin from Manchester United will further restrict the midfielder’s chances.

Cleverley won 13 England caps during his four seasons as a first-team player at Manchester United, where he won the Premier League in 2013.

He also played in the 2015 FA Cup final for Aston Villa.

Cleverley spent the 2009-10 season on loan at Watford in the Championship and won the club’s player of the year award.

Bobby disagrees:

“I think you do not have a better English player. Technically, he is as good as you get. The way he executes, how he reads the game, for me he is one of the most sensational you are going to see in Premier League history."

I think Cleverly's main contribution was his fitness, he was certainly able to do the pressing. However unless there's more than one doing that it looks like headless chicken mode. Decent footballer for Watford, and he might have a position of his own for them, rather than filling in where required.
