First team no more

Post  Yankthattoffee on Fri 10 Jun 2016, 6:07 pm

TOFFEES RELEASE TRIO

Everton have also announced their retained list, with Steven Pienaar, Leon Osman and Tony Hibbert not being offered new contracts by the club.

Osman and Hibbert were both members of the Everton academy before breaking into the first team, while Pienaar has spent two spells at Goodison Park.

Other players released by the club include Felipe Mattioni and youth players Jordan Thorniley, James Graham and Jindrik Stanek.

Three great Evertonians there. Pienaar and Baines was a partnership made in heaven - which is obviously why the Pieman was always thanking God. Leon Osman had great feet which he always protected by not kicking the ball too hard, and Hibbo was one of the greatest players ever to register zero goals for one club. Shame we didn't get to riot before he left.

They shall all be missed.

I'll miss those guys. Ossie's tricky feet, Pienaar's skill and workrate, Hibbo's....well, Hibbo was just Hibbo. Useless going forward but one of the best defenders in the PL (at defending). Everytime we played United, Ronaldo spent 20 minutes on the left before switching wings because Hibbo had him in his pocket. Not many defenders can say that.

We still miss what Ossie and Pienaar give us. They're old and crocked but they know how to play togger. Very sad to see them all go.

All great servants, but I feel Osman still has a part to play, his quick feet are amazing and his foxtrot still. would bamboozle the best defender, I know he couldn't do it consistently, but he never could, so I'd still have him in the team.

I feel deprived that we were never given the opportunity to riot.
Surely in the last 18 months we could have contrived a pen for the man.

He would have missed in a phenomenal manner though, so it wouldn't matter.

However, Everton's longest-serving players, defender Tony Hibbert and midfielder Leon Osman, both 35, are fuming with chairman Bill Kenwright after only finding out they would be released by the club when friends texted them.(Mail on Sunday)

I find that hard to believe. Oh, hold on, it's in the Mail - in which case it is not just hard to believe, it is utter fucking bollocks.

Would expect Osman to sign Rotherham United as Stubbsy is now manager there.

Poor form from the club but Hibbert should remember they paid his wages when he should have been released years ago. I'd feel worse for Osman.

"it's a fucking disgrace" said fans favourite Hibbo, sitting by his personal lake with a gold plated fishing rod in his hand. "I put my body on the line year after year for those bastards, well, year after year until a few seasons ago, after which I pretty much sat on my fat arse taking a massive pay cheque for doing fuck all. Ooh look, a big fish, hold on while I reel it in. Now, where was I? Oh yes, the bastards etc etc"

And we gave Pienaar a new contract too so he could hang around the dressing room with his mates

And Gibbo was around so that Ossie, Hibbo and Pienaar weren't the worst crocks at the club.
