I would like to see him field a pretty strong team to get the match fitness up, but also use players who are on the fringe of making the team. So a bit of a mix in other words.

Believe me ... very duly noted..... I am the chief proponent of separation of powers... but also believe in compassion and despite the ever so gentle nudge and more forthright indicate from the "esteemed leader" (or 'El Corbyno' as he is known in FIFA ) the previous thread was unadjusted..... and now this... I do believe it is Yeovil Town that we are playing. I am breaking a personal best by flying in from Singapore for 48 hours to watch the game with a very important guest.... from the South West (BRFC fan but this will do...) the least that one could expect is that the opposition is duly credited with their correct name...

I am looking forward to my long haul BA flight with decent service .... as I deliberate....

PS Snitching is back on the money .....   +2 points

It's also the case that it's clearly Plymouth Argyle, Carlisle United...... Yet the BBC has truncated..... Which doesn't provide you with much of a defence.....

Re: Everton v Yeovil

Post  Super on Tue 23 Aug 2016, 8:35 am

New Everton signings Ashley Williams and Yannick Bolasie are set for their full debuts in Tuesday's EFL Cup second-round tie against Yeovil.  Striker Romelu Lukaku is in line for his first start of the season following a heel injury.

On-loan Swansea defender Liam Shephard could return for Yeovil, while striker Francis Zoko and defender Ryan Dickson are fit again.  But defender Alex Lacey (arm) is out for up to eight weeks.

Match facts

  • This will be the first meeting of any kind between these two sides.

  • Since beating Sunderland in the 1949 FA Cup fourth round, Yeovil have lost all 12 of their meetings with top-flight opposition in all competitions.

  • Everton have progressed from 15 of their past 17 League Cup ties against opposition from lower leagues, losing out only to Brentford in 2010-11 and Leeds in 2012-13.

  • The Glovers have never progressed past the second round of the League Cup.

3-1 to Everton, due to the legacy of Martinez we gift them a goal within 5 minutes and spend the rest of the match chasing our tails until we get three late goals, Mirallas, Barry and Lukaku
