Enner Valencia

Post  Super on Wed 31 Aug 2016, 10:49 pm

Everton have completed the signing of Enner Valencia on a season-long loan from West Ham, according to Sky sources.

There is also an agreement in place for Everton to buy the player for a fee of £14.5m next summer.

I can't say that I've watched him too often, but if WHU want to sell him, I'm not so sure ?

They've got Carroll and Sakho as their main strikers and they have just bought in Zaza from Juventus for a season loan, so Valencia is obviously surplus to requirements and they wanted his wages off the books - is he better than Kone or Naisse? no idea, but I do remember him scoring a "worldie" for West Ham last season, can't remember who it was against though, from outside the box.

I'm guessing that he's fast, as Koeman doesn't want us to hang about in midfield, so its just a case of whether he can finish.

I've seen him playing for Ecuador quite a few times and he has looked good, though in the recent Copa America I remember missing 3 easy headers againts the US in the space of 5 mins. Not sure what he has been like for WHU, not all that great presumably. Still he has talent and it's only a loan, so not a ridiculous move on it's own. The fact it was our main transfer yesterday is probably what disappointed most people.

lol! lol! Swansea City's official website published an "in-depth look" at their latest signing Enner Valencia. All sounds very normal so far, right?
But there's one major problem. Last night, the Ecuadorian signed for Everton from West Ham on loan.
The Swans were clearly confident of getting their man. They were wrong.

Well, he draws a lot of fouls, and he scored a worldie once.

I hope he's brought a blanket to keep himself warm on the bench.

apparently we can get the bargain of the century if we sign Valencia permanently in the summer... Neutral

Some Blert wrote:Everton can sign Enner Valencia on a permanent deal for less than first thought.

The Blues signed the West Ham striker on a season-long loan on deadline day last August.

Valencia’s move came with an option to make it a permanent switch at the end of the season.

It had been widely understood that West Ham had agreed a fee of £14.5m for the 27-year-old but the ECHO has learnt it is less than that.

Everton would have to pay under £12m to sign the Ecuador forward who has scored three times in 17 league appearances this season.

so a 15% discount for paying his wages for the season and watching him prove he is nowhere near as good as Lukaku?

Also, are we that desperate for a striker that we would buy one worth £14.5m, rather than one who is worth £30m?.... well ok, maybe we are, but we already have a shit striker worth £13m on our books; Niasse.

A decent impact sub now and again but no where up to top 6-7 standard. More Luke Moore then Bramley Moore.

Trouble with replacing Rom is the lack of options and the fact we don't offer champion's league footy. You could look at Aubameyang or Mbappe, but both are playing champions league footy. Rom was in a place where Mourinho wasn't playing him and so he needed games. We were in the right place at the right time. Maybe we just have to accept we're not going to get a like for like replacement and just buy a couple of decent players. I like Valencia, he works hard, but he's not really the level we should be targeting.
