Chelsea v Everton

Post  The President on Tue 01 Nov 2016, 11:54 am

Chelsea have won their last 4 games and now seem to be playing okay
Time for that to come to an end
Our unbeaten run has started again

1-2 Lukaku, Barkley again

0-4 with goals from the players that Chavs have tried to buy.. Baines, Luka, Barks & Kone (ok that was wishful thinking)

Ronald will do a jig when the 4th goes in & Maureenho will spit his dummy out & whisper don't humiliate me KoeKoe... I am the below average one... even though he is a Manure wanker now

Re: Chelsea v Everton

Post  Armchair on Thu 03 Nov 2016, 2:47 pm

Ronald Koeman has started his news conference and he begins by confirming goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg is fit and available to play, but full-back Leighton Baines remains sidelined.

Everton midfielder James McCarthy has been called up by Martin O'Neill for the Republic of Ireland's game against Austria.

But Ronald Koeman has said the player is not fit.

He said: "I've spoken to James and my advice to him is to stay here and get fit but the final decision is his."

Last month, Koeman criticised the Irish manager for starting the 25-year-old Glasgow-born player for two qualifiers in four days.

Ronald Koeman has spoken about Everton conceding from set pieces: "We conceded 14 goals from them. That's crazy. We Everton have a different way of defending them now.

"Today we've prepared for Chelsea, but only the set pieces. We show the players how to improve that part of the game."

Presumably Ronny is referring to last season? scratch

Everton to win 1-0, Lukaku to score a "wonder goal" off his arse and then his elbow.  Although he wont be sure which part of him it came off last....

What Lawro thinks (for what it is worth Shocked )

Chelsea v Everton (17:30 GMT)
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte does not make a fuss whether his side win, lose or draw. I am quietly impressed by him.
Everton also have a good manager in Ronald Koeman and I was not surprised to see them return to winning ways against West Ham last week.
The Toffees belong in the top seven and they also look like they are in for a good season. I am backing Chelsea to continue their winning run on Saturday, though.
Lawro's prediction: 2-1

Everton v West Ham
Everton made a strong start to the season while West Ham's problems were well documented, but things are very different on recent form. The Toffees have only taken two points from their last four league games and also went out of the EFL Cup. If you include Wednesday's victory over Chelsea in the same competition, the Hammers have won three in a row and drew the one before that. So one team has gone five games without a win, the other four without a defeat. Bearing that in mind, I am going for a draw.
Lawro's prediction: 1-1

Same as last season. We will concede to 99th minute JT equalizer or goal. Will ruin X factor too.

I would play 3 center backs, with disciplined full backs concentrating on defense.
3 across the middle while we are defending and one up front.

In essence park the bus and hit them on the counter.

With Lukaku, Bolasie and Barkley we will be dangerous on the counter.

As we defend a lot better this season 'PLAN A' may succeed.

They're more up at the moment. We haven't clicked yet this season. Hard to think anything other than a struggle for us tomorrow.

Somehow I've got an inkling for us to win a high scoring game.
This could be a Jags game, as long as he doesn't go into his "I'm getting depressed and I'm going to roll by head around like Stevie Wonder" mode.
Maybe RK goes for a 3-5-2 line up without Gana the man.
Big Luke and Bolasie seem to have a decent rapport, but maybe for that reason Mirallas is playing like Kevin-no-mates.
Play a high press with Lennon, but only with him on the right.
Get Terry isolated and fill ya boots. Sideshow Bob to have a mare.
Seamus to bottle up Hazard. Forget attacking Shay, just stick to the guy like shit to cotton.
Costa to try and wind up Barry and go for the early bath as a result.
Koeman da man.

Ganas suspension is a huge blow for this type of game, with us likely to be on the back foot for large parts of the game. Barry needs his hard running and tackling to help him through the game and with Macca injuried as well there is no obvious replacement. Maybe Koeman might surprise us and start Davies but unfortunately he may go with Cleverly who could get swamped by Kante & Matic. Maybe the answer is to drop a winger and leave Bolasie & Lukaku to do the damage up front playing a compact four in midfield?

steak
Coleman Jags Williams Oviedo
Barkley Davies Barry Cleverley
Bolasie Lukaku
