Leicester City v Everton

Post  Super on Tue 20 Dec 2016, 9:14 am

So the first of three games in eight days sees Everton travel to the Premier League Champions Leicester City.

The festive period games are all winable (more probably for Everton's opponents), but hopefully this game will be start of a nice little run of positive performance's from Ronald Koeman's men.

Everton to win this game 2-1.

Leicester striker Jamie Vardy will miss three matches after an appeal against his red card in Saturday's 2-2 draw with Stoke City was rejected.

The 29-year-old's wrongful dismissal claim was rejected by the Football Association and he misses games against Everton, West Ham and Middlesbrough.

Should be putting his feet up with Barkley!

Putting his feet up is what got him into trouble in the first place!

Was half expecting the FA to overturn the red card when the appeal was raised.

The BArkley tackle seems to have been spoken about a lot. It was a shocker but I don't remember too much talk about that Marco Rojos tackle on Gueye the other week. Even worse in my opinion.

Lawro's opinions ??

I was there to see Leicester fight back for a draw at Stoke last week, and there was no way that Foxes striker Jamie Vardy deserved his red card.

With or without Vardy on the pitch, Claudio Ranieri's side looked pretty lively throughout that game, and it looks like they have got the spring back in their step.

You could not fault Everton's effort or application in their derby defeat against Liverpool, it was just their lack of quality in the final third that let them down.

They need to give Romelu Lukaku more chances this weekend, but I still fancy the Foxes to come out on top.

Lawro's prediction: 2-1

When the most notable thing to have happened is Islam Slimani changing his socks then you know much isn't going on.

We are trying to play our way in to some chances, but there is poor movement and tempo in the build-ups.

Baines with a shot from the edge of the bx, he doesn't hit the target but the ball almost falls for Mirallas for a tap in. Inches away.

Or like the BBC put it:

Oooh! Everton's best chance seconds before the half-time whistle. Leighton Baines drills a shot across the Foxes area and Kevin Mirallas slides in a la Gazza at Euro 96. And like Gazza he somehow fails to convert. Best chance of a drab 45 minutes.
